Personal InformationDr. Rummelhart is board certified in Periodontics and received her D.D.S. in 1981 from the University of Iowa. She entered the Navy after dental school and for the first five years was a general dentist, exposed to rotations of all specialties. Dr. Rummelhart became a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry in 1985. She also served on a ship and was deployed for seven months. She did her specialty training at Bethesda Naval Dental School, becoming the first female Navy Periodontist. After ten years of active service, Dr. Rummelhart elected to start a private practice here in Madison, WI. She has been in practice for more than 25 years, and has over 20 years of experience in periodontics. She is Chief of Periodontics at Meriter Hospital, where she teaches general residents. She also guest lectures at the University of Iowa. Dr. Rummelhart does not place implants, although she has been trained in that area. She prides herself on being practical and tries to be honest and realistic with both the patient and the referring dentist, giving all patients all options, including non-surgical therapy and discussing the pros and cons of each with them. Dr. Rummelhart is an associate and specialist in periodontics. She practices at the Old Sauk Clinic on Thursday and Friday, and at the East Clinic on Tuesday and Wednesday. Education
