Cosmetic Veneers

Veneers are thin, custom-made shells made using tooth-colored material.

If you’re unhappy with your discolored or misshapen teeth, ask your Dental Health Associates dentist about aesthetic dentistry options including veneers.

Your smile speaks for itself! If your teeth are discolored or misshapen, your Dental Health Associate dentist may recommend dental veneers to improve the appearance of your smile. Veneers are thin, custom-made shells made using tooth-colored material. Veneers are bonded to the front of your teeth permanently. They create a bright, white smile with beautifully aligned, shapely teeth. The translucent ceramic quality of today’s veneers look like your natural teeth. Dental veneers:

  • Are natural in appearance.
  • Can correct for spaces between teeth.
  • Cover stains and chips.
  • Are durable and long-lasting.
  • Enhance the appearance of the mouth and smile.

Veneers FAQs

If your teeth are only mildly discolored, your DHA dentist may steer you to a simpler alternative; whitening or composite bonding, or perhaps some simple orthodontic alignment would be best for you.

If you have a severe case of dull or discolored teeth, veneers may be the best solution for you. Although veneers require a much longer time and financial commitment than teeth whitening, the results are typically well worth it.

For small chips and cracks in the teeth, a composite “white filling” is often an inexpensive and effective restoration.  This is a procedure in which a composite resin material is bonded to the tooth at one appointment, filling in the chip or crack and protecting the surrounding tooth structure.

For more severe cases of dullness, wear, discoloration, chipping, cracking, spacing, or uneven teeth, your DHA dentist may recommend dental veneers.

This greatly depends on your insurance company. The cost of a veneer can vary. Coverage for a single veneer can range from 0% to 100%. Often, though, cosmetic work is not covered at all.

It is not easy to know your coverage just by knowing the insurance company your plan is through, as there can be hundreds of different plans through just one insurance company. To find out what percentage of veneers is covered by your insurance plan, refer to the enrollment information you were provided or call the 800 number on the back of your card to ask a representative any coverage questions. If you need help obtaining this information, a Dental Health Associates staff member would be happy to help you.
