No Insurance? You have options

Preventative dental care doesn’t have to be expensive. The average cost of an X-ray, two dental exams, and cleanings is $250 a year or $4.81 a week—about the price of your favorite Starbucks latte. DHA also offers payment options that provide you with quality dental care that works with your budget. Many of our clients at DHA start without a dental insurance plan. We make it a priority to work with our clients’ budgets—that’s why we have a Financial Coordinator on staff at every DHA location. They can answer any questions and work with you to find a manageable payment plan. Check out our payment options below to find the plan that works best for you.

I came in last week because I finally got decent insurance and I’ve known for a very long time that I needed some major dental work. I was that kid who ate and drank whatever they wanted and failed to get regular cleanings. When I was fairly young and starting to feel the painful consequences of my poor health habits, I went through a series of root canals and teeth pulls. The last time I saw a dentist was in 2011 and my teeth have literally been falling out ever since. My experiences were traumatic to say the least. That being said, it’s fair to say I was TERRIFIED to address the issues in my mouth but I knew it needed to be done. It didn’t help that my past dental experiences were at clinics for low-income folks where doctors did not particularly take pride in their work nor the comfort of the patient. My consultation visit at dental health associates of madison went over smoothly. The receptionist was friendly and helpful, and the hygienist and doctor were gentle and thorough in their exam of my mouth. They identified key problem areas, talked through my options with me, and were able to book me an appointment in a week. Today I went in with my anxiety sky-rocketing. I needed to get two fillings replaced and the pure thought of a needle and drill going into my mouth had my heart rate well into my cardio zone. Man do I feel foolish because I’ve never had a more pleasant experience. The doctor was beyond patient with me, giving me time (and more anesthesia) whenever my tooth was sensitive or I had a panic flare up. He talked through the entire procedure and made me feel so comfortable. He was kind, assuring me that my fear was normal, and haste to stop at the mere flinch of my mouth. I left the dentist for the first time almost in tears again but NOT because of the pain I experienced, but because of the superb treatment and kindness from the staff and doctors. Undoubtedly the most positive experience I’ve had at the dentist and I recommend this place to anyone who has avoided dental work due to negative previous experiences. This place is the best, in all facets.!

I've been a patient at Dental Health Associates Madison - South Clinic for over 10 years, and always look forward to my biannual visits (yes, you read that correctly!). My dental hygienist, Pam, is a phenomenal human being who demonstrates care and compassion in her work; Dr. O'Brien is infallibly positive and treats his colleagues and patients with respect. As a team, Pam and Dr. O'Brien have provided me with information about new products and approaches related to dental hygiene, have answered questions related to my insurance coverage, and have facilitated important consultations with the periodontal experts upstairs on my behalf. I would absolutely recommended DHA to anyone seeking dentistry services from a friendly and caring staff in a clean and safe environment.

Everyone here is so helpful. My wife and I recently switched insurances, but had mistakenly lost coverage for crowns. Dawn Harrington, the financial coordinator here, explained everything to me and showed me what my options were. She was very patient, understanding, and easy to talk to. My dental hygienist and dentist are always very kind, honest, and willing to answer all of my questions.

Dr. Abell and her staff are wonderful! I recently had to have a crown replaced and Dr. Abell did a great job of explaining the whole process and she made sure I was comfortable through the entire procedure. The staff in the business office were also very helpful with my insurance and cost questions. Overall I'm really happy with the care I get from Dr. Abell at DHA.
